A visa refusal or other migration decision may provide review rights, but the decision itself must be checked. Review availability, the eligible applicant, location requirements and filing deadline depend on the decision and law that applies.

Administrative review and court review serve different purposes. The Administrative Review Tribunal cannot review every migration decision, and a court is not simply another opportunity to submit a preferred application. Seek prompt advice about the actual notice and any immediate visa-status implications.
Organise the following material you already lawfully hold. This is a preparation list, not a complete evidentiary requirement. Ask the verified adviser what they need and how to send it securely.
Keep originals and dates intact. Use a short initial enquiry for a conflict and suitability check before sending sensitive documents.
Supply the refusal or reviewable decision in full, its receipt details and relevant application records. Ask promptly whether a review is available, who can apply and what timing needs attention. The first engagement should expressly identify whether advice, an application, evidence preparation or attendance is accepted.
A fresh application, merits review and a court challenge are different possibilities. Do not assume one is available or preserves another simply because it appears in an online discussion of refusals.
Who can seek review of this decision, by what deadline, and what happens to my visa position while options are assessed?
Ask the adviser to explain the assumptions behind the answer, any missing information and what would change the proposed next step. You can request an initial assessment without assuming that full representation is included.
Usually that requires clarification and a distinct scope. Ask which forum and stage the fee covers and what happens if the review ends unsuccessfully. Do not infer that one retainer continues through every possible process.

Define the work before comparing the fee
Identify the exact application, decision or notice and the provider type you are approaching. A migration agent’s registration and scope differ from those of a legal practitioner; check the authority relevant to the work.
Mention connected issues when you enquire. One engagement may not cover every part of your situation.
