- Community Legal Centres Australia — find legal help ↗
- Family Relationship Advice Line ↗
- 1800RESPECT ↗
- Translating and Interpreting Service — TIS National ↗
These organisations perform different roles. Community Legal Centres Australia is a finding pathway, not a public advice line. The Family Relationship Advice Line provides information and referrals for family relationship and separation issues. 1800RESPECT provides domestic, family and sexual violence support. TIS National provides interpreting access; ask the service you are contacting whether and how it uses interpreters.
Prepare before you contact a service
- Write a one-sentence description of the problem.
- Record the state, territory and location connected with it.
- Copy every date from a court, tribunal or agency document.
- Ask whether the service provides information, advice, a referral or representation.
- Confirm how to share documents securely before sending them.
Contacting a service does not itself protect a deadline or mean the service has agreed to act. If a date is approaching, say so at the beginning and ask what timely next step is available.
