Editorial transparency

Book a Lawyer Editorial Policy

Our purpose is to help you ask better questions and compare lawyers and law firms. We do not assess your legal position.

Who publishes the material

Book a Lawyer publishes these resources as a lawyer-finding and information website. The current guides were prepared with AI assistance and linked public sources. No independent review by a practising lawyer is claimed. A publisher byline does not represent an individual legal qualification.

Sources and jurisdiction

We link to government agencies, courts, legal regulators and professional bodies where they provide relevant background. A source from one state does not establish the law across Australia. Each new guide identifies its coverage and any material limits. Comparison questions and hypothetical examples are editorial tools, not statements of law.

Dates and changes

The date on a guide records its publication or content update. A source-check date records a reference check; it is not certification that the page covers every legal development. Sources and services can change. Follow the current official source and ask an appropriately qualified adviser about your circumstances.

Examples and professional claims

Examples are labelled as hypothetical. They are not client stories, testimonials or predictions of results. We do not invent practitioner qualifications, case histories, success rates or legal-review credentials. A general practice-area label is not automatically specialist accreditation.

Law firm information and legal guides

Law firm pages draw on shared Australian legal-services information. Featured status, information completeness and name affect search order; none is a ranking of legal ability. Guides explain how to check suitability independently. A firm information date does not replace current professional-register information.

Firm search-publication standard

A public law firm page is not automatically eligible to appear in search engines. Search eligibility requires explicit approval, no open contact-identity warning and one canonical law firm page. Pages that do not meet that standard may remain available for checking or correction, but are excluded from the XML sitemap and marked not for indexing.

When information needs clarification

If a law firm detail is uncertain, verify it using the firm’s independently confirmed contact or the relevant professional body before relying on it. If our summary and a current official source differ, do not rely on the summary to make a legal decision. This website cannot resolve an individual legal question.

Law firm membership

Build your firm’s presence across 10 Australian legal directories for AU$99 per month.

General information only, not legal advice. Directory inclusion and paid membership do not constitute an endorsement. Verify firm details directly and seek advice from a qualified Australian legal practitioner. Read the disclaimer.
